Wet-Dry Floor Washers: seven things to confirm before you order a container
Floor washers are the highest-margin category in home cleaning and the easiest to get wrong. Seven confirmations that separate a smooth programme from a container of returns — written in the order a due-diligence process should ask them.

1. Fix the claim set before you discuss price
A wet-dry floor washer is judged on four claims: one-pass vacuum-and-wash, roller self-cleaning, auto-drying on the dock, and electrolyzed-water sanitising. Each claim moves the price band and each one needs a document behind it. The HJ-FW905 platform, for example, quotes a 170 W brushless motor, 13 kPa-class suction, a 500 ml clean tank, ≥35 minutes on high and a 5.5 kg gross weight in a 635 × 315 × 245 mm box; the 25.9 V HJ-FW259 adds electrolyzed water. Ask for each claim quoted separately so your retail story and your internal pricing stay aligned.
2. Maintenance features determine your return rate
Returns in this category are rarely about suction. They are about a brush left wet in a cupboard and the smell that follows. Roller self-cleaning plus auto-drying on the dock removes that path entirely, and an IPX4-rated body with a washable HEPA-grade filter removes the consumable line from your reorder schedule. Put the maintenance routine in your manual artwork from the first printing — retrofitting it after a complaint wave is far more expensive.
3. The loading table decides your landed price, not the unit price
Floor washers are heavy and bulky, so units per container matter more here than anywhere else in the catalogue. The HJ-FW905 loads 456 / 1,175 / 1,333 units across 20GP / 40GP / 40HQ. Get the loading table in writing with the quotation, decide spare brushrolls and tanks in the same PI, and price the freight on the real carton dimensions rather than an estimate.
4–7. The four that get forgotten
Four items close the loop and are usually missed. (4) Battery transport: every lithium floor washer needs a UN 38.3 test summary and an SDS pack for carrier acceptance. (5) Water and electronics: confirm IPX4 or better and the actual sealing method — a marketing rating and an engineering rating are different things. (6) Colour-box structure: heavier machines need a reinforced box or a pallet plan; agree it before production, because it changes carton counts. (7) Spare parts: agree the roller, filter and tank part numbers in the PI so a reorder eighteen months later is a part number, not a negotiation.
