Canton Fair 2026 floor care sourcing: the seven checks buyers run before they shortlist a supplier
The 140th Canton Fair opens in Guangzhou on October 15, and Phase 1 (October 15-19) is where floor care sits. Seven checks - built on a 49-model line - that turn aisle conversations into a shortlist you can order against.

Why these 7 checks decide whether a fair lead becomes an order
The cleaning-appliance halls open October 15 — Phase 1 of the 140th Canton Fair (October 15–19, 2026) at the Canton Fair Complex in Pazhou, Guangzhou, inside the electronics and household electrical appliances section (Canton Fair organiser, 2026), with the full fair running to November 4. For buyers walking those aisles with a shortlist to build, seven checks separate a serious floor-care supplier from a glossy stand.
This checklist is built from our own 49-model floor care line — corded and cordless stick vacuums, wet-dry floor washers, wet & dry barrel vacuums, upholstery and mattress cleaners, pressure washers and steam cleaners — so every threshold below is a number we publish, quote against and test to. Run it on us and run it on everyone else you meet in Guangzhou.
#1. Line-up fit: choose your two lines before Phase 1 opens
Nobody evaluates 49 models in a day, and a buyer who arrives “to see everything” leaves with a catalogue instead of a plan. Before Guangzhou, match your channel to the lines that serve it: wet-dry floor washers for grocery and department retail, barrel vacuums for workshop and facility programmes, steam cleaners for sealed-floor and kitchen claims. Then ask every supplier which models they already build for markets like yours — the answer is a filter, not a pitch, and it is the fastest route to a mixed-model shortlist.
#2. Verified performance data, not brochure watts
Watts on a box say nothing about pickup. Ask for suction in kilopascals and for performance measured under the IEC 62885 series, the international standard family for vacuum cleaning appliances. On our published sheets the cordless range runs from a 100 W / 9 kPa entry model to a 500 W / 34 kPa flagship, and the distance between 12 kPa and 24 kPa on the same platform family is roughly the distance between a return and a reorder. Whatever the answer, write the kPa figure into the quotation — not the packaging claim.
#3. Battery files: UN 38.3 and SDS before you fall in love
Every cordless model carries a second compliance layer that showroom samples hide: lithium battery packs need a UN 38.3 test summary and a safety data sheet (SDS) before they can move by air or sea freight. If a supplier cannot produce both during the fair, treat the cordless programme as unfinished paper. On our ledger, every battery platform from the 11.1 V compact sticks to the 29.6 V flagship ships with UN 38.3 and SDS alongside the CE, EMC and RoHS files.
#4. Certificates that unlock your specific market
CE is the floor, not the answer. German retail expects GS on top; energy-related claims in the EU pull in ErP documentation; the CB scheme report speeds national approvals across the Gulf and Latin America. Fix your market’s list before the meeting, then ask for certificate copies with the quotation — not after it. Our guide on how to verify vacuum cleaner certificates walks through each document, and through the shortcuts that expose a file that will not survive your customs broker.
#5. MOQ: the 200-unit private label reality
Private-label minimums used to start in the thousands of units per model. A private label vacuum programme at 200 units MOQ changes who can play: a mid-size chain or a regional distributor can put its own brand, packaging and manuals on a proven platform without betting a full container. Ask precisely what the 200-unit price includes — logo application, colour shells, artwork, manual localisation — and take the answer away in writing. Our private-label programme page breaks the 200-unit package down line by line.
#6. Container economics: loading counts decide the real price
Unit price is not landed cost; loading counts are. Our corded stick model HJ 510 loads 4,320 units per container and the HJ S25 compact sweeper 8,900, while a wet & dry drum platform such as HJ 2402 sits around 2,292 — same container, three very different freight costs per unit. Ask for unit box, export carton and 20GP/40GP/40HQ loading counts for every shortlisted model, and model the landed cost before you compare ex-works prices. Our container loading guide shows how that arithmetic decides the first-order mix.
#7. After-sales: who answers when the first container lands
The fair ends; the warranty claims do not. Before leaving any meeting, get three things: the spares list for wear items (filters, pads, brushes, batteries), the warranty terms per market, and the response speed you can expect on technical questions. A team that answers a quotation inside 24 working hours before the order is the most reliable predictor of how it handles the harder questions after the container lands.
The spec tiers behind the checklist
Most fair conversations end at one question: what should the first order actually be? On the cordless line, the three tiers below cover the retail spread from promotional programmes to premium private label. Every figure is taken from the published specification sheet for that model.
| Tier | Model | Motor | Suction | Battery | Certificates on file | Fits |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Entry | HJ 100B | 100 W | 9 kPa | 11.1 V | CE · GS · EMC · RoHS · CB · UN 38.3 | Promotional and entry retail programmes |
| Mainstream | HJ 208 Pro | 250 W | 24 kPa | 22.2 V | CE · EMC · RoHS · CB · UN 38.3 · SDS | Established retail and distribution |
| Flagship | HJ 209 Ultra | 500 W | 34 kPa | 29.6 V | CE · EMC · RoHS · CB · UN 38.3 · SDS | Premium private label and brand flagship |
Read the table as a channel map: the entry tier suits promotional and first-time programmes, the mainstream tier carries established retail shelves, and the flagship defends a premium position. The same three-tier logic repeats across the cordless stick vacuum line.
What skippers always miss
The consumable programme. Pads, filters and brushes are the margin after the machine, and they decide whether a customer’s second purchase is an accessory or a competitor’s machine. Confirm the spare-part SKUs and their pack formats alongside the machine quotation, not in a second round after the order.
The 24-hour document test. Send the same request to every supplier you meet: certificate copies, the UN 38.3 summary, loading counts. Suppliers that answer inside 24 hours have shipped to your market before; the ones that go quiet after the fair have told you something too.
Phase timing. Phase 2 (October 23–27) moves on to houseware, tableware and gifts, and Phase 3 (October 31–November 4) to home textiles and apparel. Floor care decisions made in Phase 1 need confirmations while the fair is still running — book them before the halls close, not after you fly home.
Run the checklist on your next quotation
Three steps turn this into a working document. First, send your market, channel and annual volume, so two fitting lines and a tier proposal come back instead of a full catalogue. Second, request the tier shortlist with kPa figures, UN 38.3 / SDS files, certificate copies and loading counts in the same message. Third, put the meeting on the calendar: our export team will be in Guangzhou during the 140th Canton Fair (Phase 1, October 15–19) — contact us to schedule a supplier meeting at Canton Fair 2026 via WhatsApp at +86 153 8401 5596 or by email at komi559966@gmail.com.
Forward this before you fly: send these seven checks to every supplier on your Phase 1 list. The replies that come back with documents attached — not promises — are your real shortlist.
